What it does

• Any start and any destination: an address, a city, a friend’s house
• Destinations to collect: world landmarks, natural wonders, great cities, theme parks and dream beaches — grouped by how many days they are at your pace. Pro adds Expeditions (the Moon, the Poles, around the world) and Film Locations

Why is the widget a little behind?

iOS refreshes third-party widgets on a budget — roughly every 20 minutes during the day, and only a few dozen times a day in total — and Health data can only be read while your iPhone is unlocked. So the widget can lag your latest steps by up to about 20 minutes. Opening Farwalk, or tapping the widget, catches it up right away. This is how iOS treats every walking app; it is not a setting in Farwalk.

Requirements

• iPhone with iOS 17 or later
• Apple Health with walking distance (an Apple Watch improves accuracy but is not required)
• Sharing a journey needs iCloud on both iPhones
